Carmine J. Guinta, 88, of Port St. Lucie, Florida passed away January 6, 2018.



Carmine was born and raised in Staten Island, New York to the late Santo and Carmella Guinta nee Pollano. He has been a resident of Port St. Lucie for 15 years, having moved from Broward County, Florida. Carmine was employed as a Sanitation Police Officer in New York prior to working as a Sheriff Deputy for 20 years in Broward County. Carmine J. Guinta, 88, of Port St. Lucie, Florida passed away January 6, 2018.



Carmine was born and raised in Staten Island, New York to the late Santo and Carmella Guinta nee Pollano. He has been a resident of Port St. Lucie for 15 years, having moved from Broward County, Florida. Carmine was employed as a Sanitation Police Officer in New York prior to working as a Sheriff Deputy for 20 years in Broward County. He served many positions with the Knights of Columbus, most notably Grand Knight and District Deputy. He was active with the Color Corp. Carmine was proud of his affiliation with The American Legion. Carmine served in the United States Army during the Korean War. In his spare time, he enjoyed bowling, dancing, vacationing on cruises, and enjoying a good time. He cherished the time spent with his grandchildren.



Carmine was preceded in death by his brother, Salvatore Guinta and sister, Mary Nuzzolo.



Survivors include his wife, Ann Guinta; children, Susan Graziano, Robert Guinta, and Steven Guinta; six grandchildren; and sister, Susan Batiancela.



A Funeral Mass honoring Carmine will take place on Saturday January 27, 2018 at 10 am at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, in Port St. Lucie. Inurnment will be at a later date at South Florida National Cemetery.
